From its humble beginnings in 1973, Birchgrove has grown beyond being just a garden centre – although it boasts an impressive range of garden and gardening products – to incorporate a standalone pet and equine section.

All areas of the centre are staffed by knowledgeable teams who can help you make the right decisions on your purchases – whether it’s for your garden, pet or horse.

Parking

We have our own on-site car park, with hard standing for around 50 cars, along with a grassed overflow car park which can park around another 100 or so vehicles. The grassed area also has a large covering of trees which may help to give your vehicle some shade during the warmer summer days. When driving around the site we respectfully request you adhere to the 5 mile per hour speed limit.

Dogs Welcome

We welcome dogs onto our site, in all of the shops and the outside shopping areas. We request that dogs are kept on leads at all times. Please be a responsible owner and clean up after your pet.

Events

We hold a number of events – from dog shows to craft fairs – on site throughout the year. Details of all events can be found on our website and Facebook page, so be sure to follow us and check back often to see what we are up to.

History

The background to Birchgrove Garden Centre

Birchgrove Garden Centre opened its doors to the public on Thursday 12th April 1973. The brainchild of Adrian Moerman, the garden centre was built on land at the front of his pot plant nursery in Pinchbeck.

The original site (around 6 acres) consisted of a garden shop, outdoor plant area and portacabin selling pigeon corn.

In 1990 the Slinger family took over the business and Birchgrove has remained with them to this day. Over the years many alterations and improvements have been made including the addition of 2 steel clad buildings, one of which now houses the garden shop, the pet centre Megapets and equestrian store Bettertack.
